Directions Keeps best refrigerated or frozen. Preparation Directions: 1. Heat water to boiling, add butter or margarine and salt. 2. Remove from heat, add cold milk. 3. Add potato flakes, stir gently, fluff with a fork. Do not whip! 4. Let sit for 2-3 minutes for potato flakes to thicken. Serving Chart: 2 Servings: 3/4 cup water; 1 tbsp butter; 1/4 tsp salt; 1/4 cup milk; 2/3 cup potato flakes. 4 Servings: 1-1/2 cups water; 2 tbsp butter; 1/2 tsp salt; 1/2 cup milk; 1-1/3 cups potato flakes. 8 Servings: 3 cups water; 4 tbsp butter; 1 tsp salt; 1 cup milk; 2-2/3 cups potato flakes (Depending on the consistency you prefer for your mashed potatoes, more or less liquid can be added to make creamier or drier mashed potatoes). Microwave Directions: Follow step 1 above, except add milk with the water, butter and salt in a large bowl or dish. Place in microwave oven at high setting until hot (approximately 3 minutes for each 4 servings). Remove from microwave and follow steps 3 and 4.
