Many employees generously share their time and talents with the community. They volunteer individually, with their families, or with co-workers at their favorite community organization. They join together in company-sponsored activities such as walking in AIDS Walk San Francisco, and staffing the phone bank at the MDA Labor Day Telethon. Safeway holds an annual employee volunteer fair at corporate headquarters to introduce employees to local organizations that need additional resources.
For 2010, we have partnered with VolunteerMatch to launch the Safeway Volunteer Website. The site links Safeway employees with more than 70,000 non-profit agencies in each of our marketing areas.
