"No Heat" frozen food case doors eliminate the need for door heaters, reducing energy consumption in excess of 280 kWh per day (135,655 lbs of CO2 annually).

We use low-toxic paint, adhesives, sealants, coatings and particle board products throughout the store, including in the Produce department.

Ample use of natural light allows the store to reduce its need for artificial light sources and the energy they consume, such as in the Bakery department.

A photovoltaic system serves roughly 20% of the building's energy load, while a new fuel cell will serve an additional 20%.
